Widmer Sign Co. (Scranton, PA) has been acquired by Sekula Sign Corporation (DuBois, PA). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new owners are Bobby and Noelle Lynett, who entered the sign industry in 2018 with their purchase of Sekula. An announcement from Widmer, which has been rebranded to PA Signs, said the shop’s employees will be retained through the acquisition. Former owners Todd and Jenny Collins will continue working with the Lynetts to facilitate the transition.
The announcement added that the deal “will allow for continued, planned growth and expansion in northern Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York.”
Widmer Sign was started by Russell Widmer and his son Ed out of a one-car garage in 1934. In 2007, it purchased a building that increased its production footprint to 15,000 sq. ft.
